Recycled Egg Carton Bugs

We finished off our eggs and the eggs typically come in cardboard cartons, which I then throw in the recycling.  These eggs came in styrofoam containers this time, and I felt horrible just throwing them away.  I thought, ‘there has got to be something I can do with them’.  There was.  I decided it was time for a new craft for my girls.  It is quite easy, that they were able to do it themselves, and they had so much fun doing it.  It kept them busy for 2 full hours!  The supplies were quite cheap too, and actually things I had in our craft box.

Cut up the egg cartons on the bottom per egg spot.  Color the bottom of each egg carton with felt.  Glue on your wiggly eyes.  Poke through the pipe cleaners.  I cut some of my pipe cleaners in half and double used them.  Add antennas, glitter and anything else you want.  VOILA!  Bugs! Hope your kids enjoy making them as much as my kids did.  Recycled Egg Carton BugsRecycled Egg Carton BugsRecycled Egg Carton Bugs Recycled Egg Carton Bugs Recycled Egg Carton Bugs
